Minneapolis (11-January-2010) - The Minnesota Court of Appeals issued a favorable decision for Faegre & Benson's client Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) in a long-standing dispute involving MPR's 2004 acquisition of the former St. Olaf College radio station WCAL, now known as The Current.
Minnesota Public Radio is one of the nation's premier public radio organizations. With 900,000 listeners each week across its three services—News, Classical, and The Current—it serves the largest percentage of its available audience of any regional public radio network. The Current began broadcasting in 2005 as a non-commercial, member-supported radio station based in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Since then, the station has grown into a far-reaching community devoted to contemporary music and its roots, with members and listeners joining in from around the world.
The Faegre & Benson litigation team included Salo Ale, Hazen Graves, Trey Roberts and Annie O'Neill.
In the Twin Cities, MPR Classical is heard on KSJN 99.5 FM; MPR News is heard on KNOW 91.1 FM, and The Current is heard on 89.3 FM.
