Faegre & Benson LLP is pleased to host its fourth annual International Business Briefing® on May 3, 2010.
The IBB 2010 conference will gather Faegre & Benson lawyers and guest speakers for an intensive day of briefings and panel discussions.
We are featuring two executive leadership plenary sessions this year. These business leaders will offer insight into current international business conditions and provide helpful context for our workshops which address key legal issues. To start the day we will host an opening plenary session focused on "Creating World-Class Companies in Emerging Markets." Our luncheon plenary will focus on "The Impact of International Climate Regulation on the Colorado New Energy Economy."
The organization of IBB 2010 gives our guests the ability to construct their own program from the 23 topics offered. Among the featured topics are the following:
Cross-Border Transactions. Our sessions will focus on international M&A, joint ventures, distribution laws, global risk management and clean-tech opportunities.
IP, Outsourcing and Licensing. Presentations will cover a variety of international intellectual property topics, including IP licensing transactions, international supply and manufacturing agreements, and the risks and opportunities associated with outsourcing.
Compliance and Dispute Resolution. Sessions will address advanced international compliance – including compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and export controls – as well as international arbitration.
Geographic Focus. In separate sessions, our speakers will examine doing business in the Middle East, Russia, the UK and China.
Franchise. A "franchise afternoon" will address international franchising issues. Guest speakers from franchisors across the United States will participate in these panel discussions.
An application for CLE credit will be submitted.
