On Thursday, February 24, 2011, Michelle Bray of Baker & Daniels LLP and Amberly Martin of Redcats USA, Inc. will co-host the February Roundtable sponsored by the International Trademark Association (INTA). The topic will be "Trademark Law in the Fashion and Apparel Industry" which will cover the following topics:
- Types of trademarks that can be protected
- How to use Trade Dress protection effectively
- Licensing - the pros and cons of extending the brand
- How can a fashion/apparel company protect against counterfeiting
- Advertising and right of publicity issues in the fashion and apparel industries
- Proposed legislation to protect certain fashion designs
- Buzz marketing, social networking, behavioral marketing and privacy concerns
The Roundtable is designed to allow participants to share their experiences, learn new strategies, network with peers and address common issues and challenges.
