Kathy Hahne has represented trade and professional associations, local units of government, and corporations before the Minnesota Legislature, state agencies, and local units of government since 1989. She served as a director in Governor Rudy Perpich's office in 1985 and at the Department of Employment and Economic Development under then commissioner, now governor, Mark Dayton from 1986-1989. Kathy also served as the deputy commissioner of agriculture in 1991. She has practiced as a member of Faegre Baker Daniels' government relations team since January 2002.
Kathy has provided legislative advocacy for many clients including:
- Dakota County Community Development Agency in connection with legislation related to affordable housing and community development
- Minnesota Institute of Public Finance relating to legislation for the financing of local governmental projects and issuance of debt
- St. Paul Port Authority with regard to legislation relating to tax increment financing, brownfield clean-up, and state appropriations for redevelopment of urban properties
- Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in connection with the theater's request for state bond financing for its renovation
- Wells Fargo in connection with legislation relating to financial institutions and corporate tax issues
- American Transmission Company on issues relating to energy, renewable energy and transmission infrastructure
- American Institute of Architects, Minnesota Chapter in connection with issues impacting architects and the construction industry
- Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in connection with issues relating to tribal sovereignty and Indian gaming
- Minnesota Oncology on legislation relating to cancer care and radiation therapy
