Nadia has litigated a variety of commercial disputes in both state and federal proceedings. Her practice primarily focuses on litigation involving financial services, consumer fraud, business torts, contract disputes, and insurance coverage.
Nadia's litigation experience includes:
- Successfully defending a number of national banks against a variety of claims involving wrongful lending practices, by obtaining early victories on dispositive motions or very favorable settlements
- Lead trial counsel for national banks in contempt proceedings arising out of the wrongful release of funds from restricted accounts, and obtaining successful victories at trial or very favorable settlements
- Lead trial counsel for a national rental car company in an ongoing breach of contract and unjust enrichment lawsuit brought by a national parking lot company
- Lead trial counsel for local night club in gender discrimination lawsuit arising out of a lady's night promotion, and obtaining complete defense verdict at trial
- Representing corporate clients regarding various contract disputes, including disputes over corporate operating agreements and partnership agreements
- Successfully defending an insurance company against consumer protection and tortious interference claims brought by a supplier of a windshield repair system, by obtaining summary judgment and prevailing in the Tenth Circuit
- Successfully defending an automobile insurer in multiple individual cases and putative class actions involving insurance coverage claims, by obtaining summary judgment dismissals
Nadia has significant experience in all phases of litigation, from responding to complaints through trial. She has managed discovery, including document productions, in both small and complex cases, and has authored countless motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. Nadia also has co-first chaired a federal court jury trial in a First Amendment prisoner's rights lawsuit, and first chaired a handful of county court trials and contempt proceedings.
Nadia is a strong supporter of pro bono representation of low-income clients. For the past five years, she has co-led the firm's Denver Post-Decree Clinic, which provides assistance to low-income clients with family law issues. Nadia received the 2009 John C. Benson Pro Bono Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to the delivery of pro bono legal services.
