Our professionals represented Koch Energy Trading in a suit against several former high-level employees and the new company they had formed. Koch alleged that the defendants had misappropriated Koch's trade secrets relating to its unique weather derivatives trading technology. The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas first issued a preliminary injunction in Koch's favor. Then, after a five week trial, the court issued a permanent injunction in Koch's favor which prohibited the defendants from further using specified Koch trade secrets. The court maintained continuing jurisdiction over the case to enforce the permanent injunction.
