Faegre Baker Daniels represents medical device and pharmaceutical clients in nearly every U.S. state and in Europe. We handle complex medical mass torts, multidistrict litigation and high-exposure individual cases. We have served as national, regional and local defense counsel in major pharmaceutical and medical device product liability litigation since the 1960s.
We are recognized for our expertise in multidistrict litigation, e-discovery, and scientific evidence. We love to try cases and have served as trial counsel for clients such as Novartis, Boston Scientific and Pfizer. We have also accumulated a long list of summary judgments for drug and device clients based on Daubert challenges, product identification, and the learned intermediary doctrine.
We help clients resolve claims before litigation when an early settlement is the most cost-effective solution. We also help clients develop strategies for managing product liability risks. We provide employee training and counseling on warnings and instructions, advertising and product literature.
We lead seminars on U.S. product liability law and risk management in Europe and the United Kingdom in conjunction with the U.K. Department of Trade and Industry and the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany. Our lawyers authored the standard brochure on U.S. product liability law published by the U.K. Department of Trade and Industry, and they hold leadership positions in the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the Products Liability Advisory Council.
Our lawyers have published numerous articles about drug and device litigation in both medical/scientific publications and legal publications. They have lectured at all of the major drug and device seminars and conferences in the United States.
