Bing Wang practices international law at the Beijing office, where he advises U.S. and other foreign businesses on trading with and investing in China. Bing understands the needs and challenges of American businesses going to China to maintain their competitive edge in an ever-changing environment and possesses strong business sense due to his experience as vice president and legal counsel for three Hong Kong corporations investing in China.

Bing concentrates his practice on transactional matters, intellectual property protection, and telecommunications and IT practice, including assisting foreign companies in setting up joint ventures, wholly foreign owned enterprise and other entities in China; acquiring assets and equities of Chinese enterprises and companies; and restructuring investments of foreign companies in China. Bing also advises foreign businesses on commercial employment issues and tax laws.

Bing's practice area covers industries and sectors that include the CDM project, auto and parts, telecommunications, insurance, manufacturing, retail, real estate and IT. He is especially strong in China telecommunications practice as he served as in-house counsel for two Hong Kong companies specializing in providing mobile telecommunications services in China and has represented a global telecommunications manufacturer in acquiring interest in a joint venture in China.

Representative Experience

  • Advised a UK company on legal structure for the CDM project in China and assisted the client in conducting legal due diligence on the CDM project
  • Assisted a major U.S. insurance company in the establishment of a representative office in China
  • Represented a U.S. manufacturer of engineered floors in forming a strategic partnership with a top Chinese manufacturer in the sector
  • Represented five U.S. companies in the acquisition of assets of several Chinese companies and the formation of four wholly foreign owned enterprises in China
  • Represented a UK company to invest in the formation of a foreign investment telecommunications company providing information services in China
  • Advised more than 10 U.S. companies on routine legal and regulatory  issues for operations in China
  • Advised a global telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the acquisition of shares of a Hong Kong company holding majority equity interest in a Sino-foreign equity joint venture
  • Advised more than 20 U.S. companies, including multinational companies, in setting up more than 30 joint ventures and wholly foreign owned enterprises in China
  • Represented a Hong Kong company in the acquisition of assets of more than 10 Chinese enterprises and the formation of joint venture companies in IT business
  • Advised a Hong Kong company on the restructuring of its investment in four provinces in China
  • Represented a Hong Kong company in the acquisition of equity interest of two Chinese companies
  • Involved in the issuance of 150 million senior notes by a Hong Kong company investing in the telecommunications sector in China
  • Involved in the negotiations of USS150 million Framework Credit Facility with a global telecommunications manufacturer
  • Advised more than 20 foreign companies on trademark, domain name, copyright and patent applications, transfers and protection in China
  • Represented a major U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturer in monitoring the unauthorized sales of its products at various Chinese Web sites and notifying those Web sites to remove the unauthorized use
  • Advised U.S. companies on Foreign Corrupt Practice Act issues and other regulatory issues in China
