Partner

B.J. Nodzon drafts and negotiates billions of dollars' worth of construction, design, automation, supply chain and procurement contracts. He represents project owners, developers, contractors, engineers and designers in connection with some of the most significant projects throughout the country. He helps clients manage and evaluate risks and assists clients in resolving disputes.

B.J. has provided strategic counsel on projects across a wide range of industries.

Energy

  • Transmission lines: Representing 11 utilities in connection with the design and construction of the $2.1 billion CapX2020 Transmission Line project throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Representing two utilities in connection with a 170-mile transmission line from Big Stone City, South Dakota, to Ellendale, North Dakota.
  • Wind farms: Prepared numerous EPC contracts for wind farms throughout the United States, including Spinning Spur Wind Ranch (Texas), Top of Iowa II (Iowa) and Wessington Wind Farm (South Dakota).
  • Biofuel Facilities: Prepared EPC and BOP contracts for biofuel facilities throughout the country, including four major plants located in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri, totaling $750 million.
  • Solar: Prepared EPC contracts for solar facilities throughout the country, including Nevada and North Carolina.
  • Power Plants: Drafted and negotiated over $200 million in coal-fire and nuclear power plant construction and design agreements.

Industrial, Manufacturing, and Automation

  • Logistics: Representing a Fortune 50 global transportation and logistics company in connection with construction, design and procurement projects throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.
  • Automation: Drafted over $1 billion in automation and conveyor system contracts for clients throughout the country.

Health Care Facilities

  • Hospitals: Prepared contract documents for $550 million hospital in Fargo, North Dakota; currently representing hospital in connection with $103 million health care facility using the integrated project delivery method.
  • Health Care Storage Facilities: Drafted over $100 million in health care storage facilities throughout the United States, Brazil and Asia.

  • Retail Stores: Representing Fortune 100 retailer in connection with renovation and construction of stores throughout country.

  • Portland HUB expansion (Portland, Oregon).

Office Towers

  • Design and construction agreements for nine-story office building on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • Design and construction contracts for $70 million office tower for major clothing retailer, which included a public parking ramp and new skywalk access.

Casinos

  • Represented various casino owners, lenders, and general contractors in expansion and construction of casinos throughout the country.
