Prior Experience
Marcus gained insight into the judicial system through his experience clerking for Justice G. Barry Anderson of the Minnesota Supreme Court after law school. While in law school, he also interned for the Honorable C.J. Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. During his time with the two courts, Marcus worked on complex civil and criminal issues arising at both the appellate and district level.
Prior to law school, Marcus attended the University of Northern Iowa for college, where he played running back for the football team. He began his collegiate career as a walk-on before working his way into a starting position and serving as team captain.
Personal Interests
Marcus takes joy in the great outdoors on his family farm by hunting deer, turkeys, sheds and morel mushrooms. He also likes attending college sporting events with his wife and is an active member in his church community.
