Environmental Litigation

Overview

Philadelphia partner Bonnie Barnett presented at a new advanced course in environmental law litigation run by ALI-ABA, in association with the University of Colorado School of Law. The course provided a unique opportunity for private and public-sector environmental lawyers to refine their litigation skills by better understanding how litigation problems, substantive environmental law and science relate to each other. The course focused on the containment of litigation costs, the enforcement initiatives of the Obama administration, the problems inherent in electronic and digital data, and the litigation issues arising from global warming. Bonnie, chair of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group, spoke about developing caselaw after Burlington Northern and climate change-related litigation.
