  • Guidant v. Byrne Healthcare, United States District Court for the District of MN. Gerry was lead trial counsel on behalf of Guidant in a trade secrets case involving a nationwide attempt to misappropriate Guidant's trade secrets. Gerry was successful in obtaining a consent decree.
  • Guidant v. Aspen Healthcare Metrics, United States Court for the District of Minnesota. Gerry was lead trial counsel on behalf of Guidant in a trade secrets case involving a nationwide attempt to misappropriate Guidant's trade secrets. Gerry was successful in obtaining a consent decree.
  • ECRI v. Guidant, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Gerry is lead trial counsel on behalf of Guidant in a trade secrets case.
  • B.J. Carney v. Safeco Ins. Co., Cigna, et al. Declaratory judgment action against eight primary and excess carriers in connection with multiple superfund sites. Gerry was lead counsel on behalf of the insureds and, successfully obtained millions of dollars of coverage.
  • In re: The Exxon Valdez, United States District Court for the District of Alaska. Representation of over 2000 commercial fishermen and fishing related businesses from all parts of Alaska in connection with claims for damages as a result of the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. Gerry was a lead member of the plaintiffs' trial team which obtained a $5 billion punitive damage judgment, the largest in United States history, and a compensatory damage judgment of $287 million.
  • In re: the Glacier Bay, United States District Court for the District of Alaska. Representation of over 800 commercial fishermen, fish processors and fish traders in Upper Cook Inlet, Alaska in connection with claims as a result of the 1987 Glacier Bay oil spill. Gerry was a lead counsel trying the case to a jury in Anchorage, Alaska in 1991, resulting in a multimillion dollar verdict on behalf of Faegre Baker Daniels' clients.
  • Santa Fe Railroad v. B.J. Carney, U.S. District of California, Superfund litigation concerning pole treating yard. One at the leading cases on CERCLA and "Orphan's Share" liability. Gerry was lead counsel on behalf of ten defendants and brought about a successful settlement.
  • Soo Line Railroad v. B.J. Carney, et al, United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Superfund litigation concerning pole treating yard. One of the leading cases on successor liability and allocation of fault under MERLA and CERCLA. Gerry was lead counsel on behalf of ten defendants and achieved a very successful settlement on behalf of B.J. Carney.
  • Fain et al. v. State Industries, product liability national Class Action involving the world's largest water heater manufacturer. Gerry was lead counsel.
  • Bartek v. State of Alaska, class action representing over 500 Alaskans, who lost their homes in the catastrophic Miller's Reach fire.
  • Dupont v. Monsanto, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. Gerry was a lead counsel on behalf of DuPont in a major antitrust and Lanham Act case against Monsanto. Gerry was successful in bringing about a successful settlement on behalf of DuPont.
  • Dupont v. Monsanto and Asgrow, United States Court for the District of Delaware. Gerry was a lead trial counsel on behalf of DuPont in a major trade secret and antitrust case against Monsanto and Asgrow. Gerry was successful in bringing about a settlement on behalf of DuPont.
  • Carney Products v. B.J. Carney, Superfund litigation in the Eastern District of Washington. Gerry was lead trial counsel in a complex CERCLA case involving "Orphan's Share" liability and natural resource damages in connection with a site in northern Idaho.
