Jane E. Maschka

Associate

Jane litigates complex financial disputes.

Jane is part of the firm's finance litigation team, which is dedicated to serving clients in the financial services industry.  Her experience includes defending lender liability claims and representing receivers and trustees pursuing claims such as fraudulent transfer, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. Jane also has expertise in disputes arising from the financing of tribal gaming operations. 

She joined Faegre in 2010 and previously was a litigator at WilmerHale in Washington, D.C.

Recent highlights include:

  • Obtaining a $42 million settlement on behalf of the receiver of an insolvent construction finance company based on fraudulent transfer and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
  • Securing an ex parte preliminary attachment of assets and temporary restraining order against a former shareholder and officer of an LLC based on claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Defense of lender liability claims in multiple actions arising out of the Le-Nature's bankruptcy.
  • Successful defense of a gaming operator against a claim of tortious interference with a contract.
  • Obtaining a preliminary restraining order necessary to enforce the arbitration provision in a tribal gaming financing contract.
  • Won appeal overturning wrongful conviction.
