Joe Tanner, leader of Faegre Baker Daniels' product liability litigation group, counsels clients on a wide range of product liability issues, including trial and litigation strategies, multidistrict litigation (MDL) and national defense coordination, alternative dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and risk avoidance. He represents global and regional manufacturers in numerous state, federal and appellate courts throughout the United States and Canada. In doing so, Joe has defended a variety of products, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food products, consumer products, motor and recreational vehicles and components, and industrial machinery.

In particular, Joe has extensive experience in defending medical devices and pharmaceuticals, including serving as national trial and MDL counsel to one of the largest worldwide device manufacturers. He also has developed significant expertise and has spoken extensively on regulatory recalls and the proper use of and the exclusion of experts in federal and state product liability actions. Joe also has handled numerous international disputes and arbitrations in Canada, Europe and China, and he enjoys counseling Chinese clients that have international business ventures and U.S. clients that have interests in China.
