Jon Laramore is co-leader of Faegre Baker Daniels' appellate advocacy practice. He is among the most experienced appellate practitioners in Indiana, having briefed and argued hundreds of appeals in state and federal courts in several jurisdictions, including the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Indiana Supreme Court.
Jon is an elected member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a national professional organization limited to 500 members. He has been chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and served on several of the committees that drafted a complete revision of the Indiana Rules of Appellate Procedure, effective in 2001.
Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Jon served as legal counsel to Indiana Governors Frank O'Bannon and Joseph E. Kernan. His other service in state government included terms as Commissioner of the Department of Local Government Finance and Chairman of the State Board of Tax Commissioners.
Jon served for eight years in various capacities in the Indiana Attorney General's Office, including five years supervising the state's appellate practice. As a former government attorney, Jon has acquired special expertise in constitutional and administrative law, and he teaches, writes and speaks frequently about the Indiana Constitution.

- Dave's Excavating, Inc. v. City of New Castle, WL 77641 (Ind. Ct. App. 2012) — Represented city in dispute with road building contractor that walked off the job and claimed damages.
- Indiana Area Foundation of United Methodist Church, Inc. v. Snyder, 953 N.E.2d 1174 (Ind. Ct. App. 2011) — Represented church in successful defense of claim by minister removed from office.
- In re Crisis Connection, Inc., 949 N.E.2d 789 (Ind. 2011) — In case of first impression, applied state privilege statute to quash subpoena issued to battered women's shelter.
- Southlake Mental Health Center v. Crown Point Board of Zoning Appeals (2010) — Represented non-profit mental health center in zoning dispute regarding halfway house the center wished to open.
- In re ITT Derivative Litigation (2010) — Represented Indiana Legal Foundation as amicus curiae in Indiana Supreme Court matter addressing a certified question regarding the standard for whether directors are disinterested so that they may serve as members of special litigation committee.
- Koehlinger v. Indiana State Lottery Commission (2010) — Represented Hoosier Lottery in appeal of class action by scratch-off game players claiming they were misled by certain information on the Lottery's website.
- In re Recker (2009) — Represented public defender in Indiana Supreme Court disciplinary matter addressing whether he and another public defender constituted a "law firm."
- Campbell v. Indianapolis Public School Corp. (2009) — Represented school board in dispute regarding whether elected board member was properly qualified and could assume office.
- Citizens Action Coalition v. PSI Energy (2008) — Represented public utility in appeal of the regulatory approval for a new electric generating plant using cutting edge integrated gasification combined cycle process.
