Mark Romaniuk is an employment attorney who concentrates his practice on assisting clients in addressing and resolving complex employee relations issues. He focuses on developing and administering employment policies and procedures for both unionized and non-unionized workforces as well as helping clients navigate leave and accommodation related issues under state and federal laws, including state workers' compensation requirements.

Mark has worked with clients of all sizes in assisting with the development, revision and implementation of employment policies and procedures. With extensive experience working with clients in manufacturing and distribution, Mark understands the practical implications associated with policy enforcement and the challenges facing employers in maintaining a stable and consistent workforce. He also works collaboratively with clients in developing creative policies and solutions designed to incentivize employees to maintain consistent attendance at work and dispense work efficiently. 

Leave, Disability and Workers' Compensation

Mark also works closely with clients in providing advice and counsel on addressing individual leave and disability related issues. He helps navigate situations involving state and federal leave laws, reasonable accommodation analysis under the Americans with Disabilities Act and workers' compensation compliance. Mark has extensive experience in both counseling and defending employers in workers' compensation cases involving serious injuries or illness. He is often asked to coordinate workers' compensation defense strategy with employment policy compliance in order to maintain fair and consistent application of employment policies while mitigating the overall exposure under workers' compensation. Additionally, his experience in actually defending clients on these matters in both administrative and judicial forums provides employers with a comprehensive risk analysis assessment when facing difficult decisions on these issues.

Mark's experience in the areas of policy development/compliance and leave administration also makes him uniquely qualified to assist clients in maintaining a union free work environment. He is frequently asked to conduct supervisor training and to audit policies and compliance in an effort to avoid third party interference with the employment relationship. Mark also works with unionized employers in the areas of collective bargaining, defending matters before the National Labor Relations Board and arbitration.
