Nina Y. Wang

Partner

Nina Y. Wang focuses her practice on complex intellectual property litigation and related counseling and advice. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Nina served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Colorado in the Civil Division from 2000 to 2004. In this role, Nina served as lead trial and appellate counsel in hundreds of civil cases.

Some of Nina's significant representations include:

  • U.S. Philips Corporation v. NETGEAR—Represented NETGEAR at the district court and on appeal in a patent infringement action involving the IEEE 802.11 Wireless Networking Standards. The case resulted in summary judgment in favor of NETGEAR on hundreds of accused products, which was affirmed by the Federal Circuit for all but four products.
  • CoorsTek v. Reibers—Act as lead trial counsel for CoorsTek in a patent declaratory judgment action and a related ITC Investigation involving tools used in the semiconductor industry.
  • Puroclean v. White—Acted as lead arbitration counsel for Puroclean in a trademark and trade dress infringement action against a former franchisee. The case resulted in a favorable settlement for Puroclean.
  • LabCorp v. Metabolite—Represented LabCorp in its post-Supreme Court proceedings involving interpretation of a patent license. The case resulted in summary judgment in favor of LabCorp.
  • Trading Technologies v. CQG—Representing CQG in a patent infringement action involving software for the futures trading industry.
  • Genetic Technologies v. Applera—Represented Genetic Technologies in a patent infringement action involving DNA assays. The case resulted in a favorable settlement for GTG.
  • St. Jude v. Boston Scientific—Represented Boston Scientific in a patent infringement action involving cardiac rhythm devices that resulted a favorable global settlement.
  • Baden v. USA Basketball—Acted as lead trial counsel for USA Basketball in a patent infringement action involving a basketball design patent. The case resulted in a favorable settlement for USA Basketball.
  • Trading Technologies International, Inc. v. CQG—Act as lead trial counsel in two patent litigation cases involving 12 asserted patents associated with the financial trading industry.
  • Freda v. PremierGarage—Acted as lead trial counsel in patent litigation case involving chemical floor coatings.
  • MPH v. NETGEAR—Acted as lead trial counsel in patent litigation case involving security protocols for wireless routers.

Nina also teaches a semester-long seminar in patent litigation at the University of Colorado School of Law and has previously taught trial advocacy at the University of Colorado School of Law. She currently serves as an officer of the IP Section of the Colorado Bar.

From 1999 to 2000, Nina was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Messitte of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
