Rich Forschler has practiced as a member of Faegre Baker Daniels' government relations team since he joined the firm as a partner in 1989. Rich represents corporations, trade associations and professional associations before the Minnesota Legislature, state agencies, Minnesota's congressional delegation, and local units of government. Rich has provided leadership on many significant projects for clients including:
- American Association of Advertising Agencies, Twin Cities Council in opposing legislation to extend the state sales tax to advertising services. He also represented the Twin Cities Council with regard to negotiations with the Minnesota Department of Revenue leading to the adoption of new rules regarding application of the sales tax to advertising transactions
- Great River Energy with regard to legislation affecting the taxation of electrical utilities, electric utility deregulation, and renewable energy
- IBM Corporation with regard to corporate taxes, government procurement, and regulatory issues
- International Franchise Association in connection with legislation affecting the rights and responsibilities of franchisors and franchisees with regard to sale, transfer, renewal and termination of franchises
- M.A. Mortenson Company with regard to authorization to construct a new hockey arena in St. Paul for the Minnesota Wild
- Minneapolis Downtown Council and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce with regard to reform of Minnesota's property tax system, completion of the Minneapolis Convention Center and funding for light-rail-transit
- Minneapolis Home Field Advantage with regard to authorization to construct a new ballpark in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Twins
- Minnesota Broadcasters Association with regard to taxation of the broadcast industry and data privacy issues
- Minnesota Private College Council with regard to funding and taxation issues affecting higher education
- Owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Team and Target Center Arena with regard to legislative authorization of the public acquisition of Target Center
- National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Minnesota Chapter, and the Minnesota Shopping Center Association with regard to reform of Minnesota's property tax system and relief for commercial industrial property taxpayers
- Ordway Center for the Performing Arts with regard to state bond funding for a major renovation
- Target Corporation with regard to corporate tax, employment law, and regulatory issues
- The Minneapolis Foundation with regard to funding All Day Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education
