Demoya R. Gordon


Demoya Gordon is a member of the Faegre Baker Daniels litigation practice group.

Demoya defends product liability actions, including cases involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, mechanical products, and food and agribusiness products. Demoya also practices trusts and estates litigation. Demoya regularly plays a lead role in handling cases locally and across the country, including assuming primary responsibility for discovery, merits analysis, motion practice and trial preparation. She has broad experience working on complex litigation and class action lawsuits, as well as smaller cases involving individual plaintiffs.

Representative Experience

Product Liability and Personal Injury Litigation

  • Royal v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Company — Lead associate in product liability case involving young plaintiff who lost his vision and attributes it to Tegretol® use.
  • Hagerman v. Alcon Laboratories Inc. — Lead associate in product liability case alleging injury arising from implantation of intraocular lenses.
  • Tsimbler v. Alcon Laboratories Inc. — Lead associate in product liability case alleging injury arising from use of glaucoma eye drops.
  • Briefed summary judgment motion that resulted in dismissal of a wrongful death case.
  • Dwight v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Company — Briefed summary judgment motion that led to the voluntary dismissal of a products liability suit brought against a major pharmaceutical manufacturer.
  • Kidd v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Company — Briefed summary judgment motion that led to favorable settlement of a products liability case alleging injury arising from Zelnorm® use.

Trusts and Estates Litigation

Representation of trustees, beneficiaries and other interested parties in cases involving:

  • Objections to estate and trust administration
  • Claims of incapacity and undue influence
  • Litigation involving trust or family assets
  • Contested trustee removal proceedings

During law school, Demoya clerked with the National Center for Youth Law in Oakland, California, as well as the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley, California.
