South Bend Office Renovated with Environmentally Friendly Practices

The South Bend Tribune reported on Baker & Daniels' environmentally friendly practices in moving its South Bend office to the top floors of the KeyBank downtown building. Etched glass was used for many interior walls so that "borrowed" light can spread throughout each floor. Natural light also is good for employees and reduces the need for interior lighting, the story reported. Natural flooring was used to cut down on fumes, and Indiana oak was used to lower fuel use and emissions. Light sensors were installed in offices and bathrooms, so lights eventually shut off.
