OSHA & Workplace Safety

Employers face significant legal requirements regarding worker safety. The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and state occupational safety and health laws provide considerable regulation and compliance obligations over a wide variety of workplaces. A number of federal and state environmental laws also impact business worksites. In addition, workers' compensation and occupational disease issues present important employer considerations and compliance obligations. Other employment and tort law issues may be implicated in workplace safety and health matters, including compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

Faegre Baker Daniels maintains an active occupational safety and health practice, assisting employers with compliance and defense matters across the United States. Our professionals have served as national and regional OSHA counsel for multinational employers in manufacturing, health care (including pharmaceuticals and medical devices), agricultural, energy, retail, services and other sectors. We also represent construction firms in workplace safety and OSHA matters.
