Baker & Daniels Team Represents Meijer in Tax Assessment Appeal

When the Wayne County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals valued Meijer's property at more than $12 million for 2003 and 2005, Meijer hired an independent appraiser, who valued the property at $6.3 million using a sales comparison approach, Indiana Lawyer reported in the article, "Court Mulls Tax Law." The tax board held that the appraiser had used properties not "comparable" to Meijer's properties. Indiana Tax Court Judge Thomas Fisher reversed the tax board's judgment, ruling that Meijer's appraisal was based on more reliable evidence presented in the case.

Brent Auberry, Jon Laramore and Stephen Paul of Baker & Daniels represented Meijer in the appeal.
