Complying with FSMA's Food Import Regulations

Washington, DC

Overview

Sarah Brew, who leads Faegre Baker Daniels' food litigation and regulatory practice, will be among the expert speakers during the "Complying with FSMA's Food Import Regulations" Conference on Dec. 4-5, 2012, in Washington, D.C.

On Day 2, Brew will present on "Identifying Specific Challenges for Importing High-Risk Foods and Fresh Produce under FSMA." She will discuss understanding how and why FSMA creates special requirements for certain high-risk foods and fresh produce; the import framework for high-risk foods and fresh produce; and analyze practical implications and concerns for importers of high-risk foods and fresh produce.

The event is the only conference dedicated to all aspects of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) relevant to food imports. The new FSMA law, which was passed by Congress in late 2010, contains dozens of major changes for the food industry, especially companies and countries involved in importing food into the United States. The conference features an incredible roster of FSMA experts who will share their best strategies for dealing with the coming changes.
