Baker & Daniels was among the "Best Places to Work in Indiana" for the second straight year. Honorees were determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Baker & Daniels was chosen in the category for large-sized companies with 250 or more employees.
The Indiana Youth Institute bestowed an additional honor upon five winners ranked among the "Best Places to Work in Indiana" with the "Family Friendly Award" for workplace policies that provide employees with more time and resources to raise their children. Baker & Daniels offers a variety of programs, including flexible work schedules, job sharing, reduced hours arrangements, telecommuting, pre-tax dependent care accounts, generous allowance for paid sick days and personal days, paid half-day for holiday shopping and on-site services for dry cleaning, shoe repairs and other needs. The firm also supports national events like "Take Your Daughter/Son to Work Day" and sponsors a biennial picnic for employees and their families at local attractions like the Indianapolis Zoo.
All companies that participate in the Best Places to Work program received an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses based on employees surveys. The report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.
Honorees in the Best Places to Work program are featured in the May/June issue of the Indiana Chamber's BizVoice® magazine, a statewide publication and accessible online at www.bizvoicemagazine.com. The Best Companies Group has overseen similar programs in 18 other states. Modern Think LLC, a workplace excellence consulting firm, handled the selection process.
