Baker & Daniels' J.P. Hanlon Receives Indy's Best and Brightest Award

J.P. Hanlon, a partner at Baker & Daniels LLP, was named the recipient of Indy's Best and Brightest Award in the law category. Sponsored by Junior Achievement, the Best and Brightest awards program recognizes central Indiana's most outstanding young professionals and community leaders age 40 and under.

Best and Brightest nominees are judged on their professional accomplishments, leadership qualities and positive impact on others. Chad Priest, a Baker & Daniels associate, was a finalist for Indy's Best and Brightest Award in the health and life sciences category.

Hanlon, who previously served as an assistant United States Attorney and law clerk to U.S. District Judge Robert L. Miller, Jr., currently leads Baker & Daniels' white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance and internal investigations practice. He serves as counsel to individuals and businesses in a variety of white-collar matters, including corporate fraud and abuse, health care fraud, securities fraud, and regulatory and compliance matters. Committed to equal access to justice, Hanlon also regularly represents individuals in federal criminal cases on a pro bono basis.

Outside his law practice, Hanlon serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Providence Cristo Rey High School, a college preparatory school for students of limited financial means. Hanlon also is currently in training so that he may serve as an advocate for children who are victims of abuse and neglect.

As a recipient of the Best and Brightest Award, Hanlon will participate in the Lacy Leadership LEAD Program, a six-session leadership training program. He also will be involved with the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee.
