At a time when help is valued more than ever, attorneys at Faegre & Benson are extending their community outreach by sponsoring a pro-bono-service training session for other legal experts. This training is a coordinated effort to showcase the work and impact of pro bono lawyers across the county.
The event takes place during the American Bar Association's National Pro Bono Celebration, dedicated to encouraging pro bono service by lawyers to meet the increasing need for representation of low-income and vulnerable clients in civil legal matters. In fact, the training session is the only event in the state of Colorado that is specifically part of the National Pro Bono Celebration and will feature information on a variety of topics, including Ethics, Pro Bono Value and Networking, Anatomy of a County Court Case, Anatomy of a Family Law Case and Working with Pro Bono Clients, led by a team from the Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
Held on Oct. 29, and open to new attorneys, volunteering with Metro Volunteer Lawyers programs, the free training session will take place at Faegre & Benson's office, 1700 Lincoln St. in Denver, from 9 a.m. until noon. Interested participants should RSVP to Candace Whitaker, Faegre & Benson's Pro Bono Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 303-607-3780.
"Our firm is a leader in pro bono service in Colorado, and we are committed to this community," said John Shively, partner at Faegre & Benson and member of the firm's Community Service Committee. "Our sponsorship of this training session further demonstrates our support for individual lawyers pursuing their own passion for pro bono service. We are happy to contribute to the National Pro Bono Celebration, honor our pro bono work and benefit one of our pro bono partners."
