Firm Honored with Faculty of Federal Advocates' Pro Bono Award

Denver (22-December-2009) Faegre & Benson is pleased to announce that the firm's Colorado offices have received the Faculty of Federal Advocates' (FFA) Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award.

Nearly 2,500 pro bono hours from Faegre & Benson's attorneys and paralegals have been donated over the past few years to the FFA. This is the third year in a row the Colorado offices have been recognized by the FFA for pro bono work. In 2007, the firm was awarded the Counsel/Co-Counsel Award and in 2008, received the Donald E. Cordova Distinguished Service Award for excellence in pro bono representation of debtors in federal bankruptcy court.

For many of Faegre & Benson's lawyers, the experience of reaching across cultural and economic divides to meet pro bono clients on a common ground is life changing—as is illustrated in the firm's 2007 and 2008 pro bono videos. A founding member of the Law Firm Pro Bono Project and a signatory to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge, Faegre & Benson has met or exceeded the challenge every year since its inception – committing annually to provide pro bono legal representation equivalent to at least three percent of total billable hours, and to direct a majority of pro bono hours to serving persons of limited means.
