Faegre & Benson Honored for Pro Bono Work on Behalf of Immigrants, Torture Survivors

Faegre & Benson LLP was recently awarded the 1st Annual Pro Bono Service Award by the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network and the Rocky Mountain Survivors Center. This inaugural award recognizes the firm's continued support through the time, talent and resources of attorneys and legal staff on behalf of survivors of torture, including immigrant children as well as men and women in immigration detention.

The award was presented at the Immigrant Liberty Awards on June 19, 2009. Candace Whitaker, the Colorado Pro Bono & Community Service Coordinator, accepted the award on behalf of Faegre & Benson.

The Rocky Mountain Survivors Center assists refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants in search of permanent immigration status.

The Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network provides legal services to men and women in immigration detention, as well as abandoned or abused children in Colorado (www.rmian.org).
