Before joining Baker & Daniels, Kingsbury practiced for 10 years in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she was named the firm's first Pro Bono Partner of the Year in 2008. She also was the 2009 recipient of the ACLU's Annetta Dieckmann Award as well as the recipient of Kirkland's Pro Bono Service Award in both 2008 and 2009. Kingsbury serves on the Litigation Steering Committee for the National Immigrant Justice Center and as Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Evanston Community Defender.
Kingsbury graduated Order of the Coif and with honors from DePaul University College of Law in 2000 and summa cum laude from Otterbein College in 1991. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Otterbein, she spent six years in the performing arts before attending law school in 1998.
In commercial litigation, Kingsbury's legal practice includes, but is not limited to, employment and labor disputes, bankruptcy issues, and breaches of representations and warranties. In intellectual property, she focuses in the areas of patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark, licensing, advertising and damages issues.
Kingsbury has extensive experience in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She also has practiced in many other courts and legal forums across the country.
