Baker & Daniels Receives Highest Indy Ranking in Summer Associates Survey

Baker & Daniels LLP was the highest-ranked Indianapolis law firm in the 2010 summer associates survey conducted by The American Lawyer.

The rankings were based on responses in nine key subject areas, including interest level of work, how much of it was "real," training and guidance, interactions with partners and full-time associates, how well the firm communicated its goals, how accurately the firm portrayed itself in interviews, how it rated overall as a place to work, and the respondents' inclination to accept a job if one were offered.

With responses based on a scale of 1 to 5 (and 5 being the highest), Baker & Daniels' average score was 4.420 from its summer associates participating in the survey. Baker & Daniels also ranked No. 1 among Indianapolis law firms in 2008 when it last participated in the survey.

In all, the 2010 national survey was distributed to 3,879 summer associates at 137 law firms. The American Lawyer reported that 3,000 summer associates responded.

Baker & Daniels provides its summer associates with an experience that closely resembles that of a first-year associate. From partner and associate attorney supervisors, summer associates receive the same type of assignments as new associates, allowing them to work on challenging assignments that create an opportunity for growth and development.

Summer associates at Baker & Daniels also participate in education programs, seminars on legal ethics, negotiation skills, oral advocacy, library and computer research training, firm economics and social networking.
