B&D Consulting to Review Government Advocacy Best Practices

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Frank Swain, Senior Vice President of B&D Consulting, will provide an overview of the fundamentals of effective government advocacy via webinar on July 1, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.

The program, which is being hosted by the Genetic Alliance, will feature an overview of Congress and the legislative process. Swain will share strategies for communicating with policymakers and making an impact on issues of central interest to organizations in the advocacy community. Sharon Terry, Genetic Alliance President & CEO, will provide insight into the significance of legislative advocacy in furthering effective use of genetic information. The key issues of focus for the Genetic Alliance are public access to government funded research and strengthening the role of the Department of Health and Human Services in promoting personalized medicine.
