Jennifer Bickley Hull Named to Michiana's Forty Under 40 Class

Jennifer Bickley Hull, a partner on Baker & Daniels' national labor and employment law team, has been named to the Michiana Forty Under 40 Class of 2010.

Forty Under 40 recognizes forty individuals under age 40 who have carved a niche for themselves through their professional contributions, dedication to community service and volunteerism. Those professional and personal contributions create waves that will be felt throughout the Michiana community, the South Bend Tribune Business Weekly reported in the announcement story, "Ripples of Optimism."

"To live my life without any regrets and provide a positive role model for women who wish to excel in the workplace while enjoying a fulfilling personal life" was Hull's reply to her goals, the story reported.

In addition to crediting her hardworking parents, Hull said, "I am also grateful for my clients, who teach me something new every day and to my colleagues at Baker & Daniels who have allowed me the flexibility to balance my work and personal life in a manner that permits me to be productive and fulfilled."

At home, Jennifer and her husband have three young daughters. At Baker & Daniels, she helps employers develop strategies to improve employee relations, limit liability and represent their interests in arbitration before administrative agencies (such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and National Labor Relations Board) and in federal and state court.

Hull serves on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Northern Indiana Branch; volunteers for the Family Justice Center, representing victims of domestic violence in court for purposes of obtaining protective orders; and is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where she graduated cum laude. Hull received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Michigan State University.

Hull also does pro bono work for the Family Justice Center, Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Northern Indiana Affiliate and United Way of Greater Niles, Mich. She is a past board member with Child Abuse Prevention Services.

Before joining Baker & Daniels in 2002, Hull was a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit.

Bethel College, pairing with newspapers and chambers of commerce in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties, started the Michiana Forty Under 40 program in 2007. Since last year, the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce has taken over the lead role.
