Ernest Summers III has joined Baker & Daniels LLP as a partner in the law firm's Chicago office.
Summers will continue to focus his practice in business litigation where he has extensive experience in corporate and private practice. He represents clients in complex litigation, including cases involving policyholders in many types of insurance recovery claims and litigation. Summers also handles cases on antitrust, licensing and distribution, securities fraud and other shareholder disputes, mass toxic tort and other areas of commercial litigation.
In insurance coverage, Summers concentrates his practice on litigation and counseling involving general liability insurance, environmental impairment liability insurance, asbestos coverage, director and officer liability insurance, legal and medical malpractice, first-party property, all-risk coverage, business interruption, workers compensation, insurance archaeology, policy interpretation and insurer notice correspondence.
Summers graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington in 1980. From Indiana University, he also earned an M.B.A. in finance and bachelor's degree in economics and political science.
Summers is a former partner at Howrey LLP and Anderson Kill & Olick, both in Chicago. He has been a member of the Economic Club of Chicago since 1991.
