Faegre & Benson and Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) are hosting the Integrated Delivery System Round Table™ February 8-9 in Denver. The Round Table is a best-in-class event that brings together Integrated Delivery System (IDS) executives from some of the United States' most prominent systems for facilitated discussions, presentations, panels and networking.
"The landscape of healthcare delivery is changing – and will continue to evolve rapidly in the next few years – so it's vital that health systems learn to be nimble and responsive, despite their size and complexity," said William F. Jessee, MD, FACMPE, MGMA president and CEO. "It can feel like 'turning the Titanic' but as we can see an expectation of 'accountable care' on our horizon, it makes sense for IDSs to become an effective model for that positive change."
Attendees can share their experiences with enacting change and can learn from experts who will address change theory and practice in integrated systems' financial, operational and other systems. Attendees will also participate in discussions focused on "evidence-based medicine" and examine legislative and regulatory issues affecting integrated systems in today's healthcare delivery and payment environments.
"Today, virtually all healthcare provider organizations are confronting the daunting challenge of 'living in two-worlds' as they begin the transition from today's volume-based system of healthcare payment and delivery, to one in which quality, efficiency and value are of greater importance," said Bruce A. Johnson, a partner with Faegre & Benson's health law practice and MGMA consultant. "Past attendees defined the program's agenda and format to assist integrated systems drive and manage change processes in order to better meet patient, community and business needs in new models of care delivery and financing. We're pleased to partner with MGMA on the round tables, provide our perspective as health lawyers and advisors, and learn from program attendees in this unique networking forum."
