Faegre & Benson Awarded Partnership of the Year by the Brain Injury Association of Iowa

On March 11, the Brain Injury Association of Iowa (BIA-IA) honored the law firm Faegre & Benson with the 2011 Partnership of the Year Award. The award recognized Faegre & Benson's extensive pro bono work for BIA-IA. A team of Faegre & Benson lawyers, led by Jacob Bylund, has worked closely with BIA-IA to help ensure all persons with a brain injury receive appropriate care.

"Faegre & Benson has supported attorney Jacob Bylund in his efforts to assist and support BIA-IA in its advocacy with the Department of Human Services (DHS), the governor's office, and state legislature in advocating for increased funding for the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver," said Geoffrey Lauer, executive director of BIA-IA. "Specifically, Bylund has drafted a federal complaint that BIA-IA has been able to share with key policymakers, which has increased the visibility of this issue tremendously."

The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Iowa is to create a better future through brain injury prevention, advocacy, education, research, and support.
