J.P. Hanlon Joins Board of Directors on Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee

J.P. Hanlon of Baker & Daniels LLP has been named to the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee's Board of Directors.

GIPC provides a forum for leaders of the public and private sector of Indianapolis to work as partners to study, discuss and address issues of concern and areas of opportunity which affect the progress of the city. Since its inception in 1965, the Progress Committee has played a major role in bringing together people and representatives from all sectors of the community to solve problems.

As an advisory arm to the mayor, GIPC represents a bipartisan alliance that is a continuing example of the public-private partnership that has played a vital role in the success of Indianapolis. Whether involved in enhancing the existing community by means of task forces — such as, the Community Crime Prevention Task Force or the Transportation Task Force — or through providing a forum for better racial understanding in the community through the Race and Cultural Relations Leadership Network, the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee continues to play a vital part in the city's future progress.

Hanlon, a partner at Baker & Daniels, concentrates his law practice in the area of white collar defense and regularly serves as counsel to individuals and businesses in matters involving allegations of financial fraud, health care and environmental compliance, and securities regulation.

Hanlon is an adjunct faculty member at the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis where he teaches courses on white collar crime. He recently co-authored Punishing Corporate Crime: Legal Penalties for Criminal and Regulatory Violations (Oxford University Press 2009). Hanlon previously served on the Board of Directors at Providence Cristo Rey High School in Indianapolis.
