Baker & Daniels' Damian Gosheff Recognized for Pro Bono Work

The Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana honored Damian Gosheff of Baker & Daniels LLP with an Award for Excellence in Client Service at its annual volunteer attorney awards recently.

Gosheff and seven other attorneys received the award in honor of time they devoted to local pro bono services in 2010. The Volunteer Lawyer Program works with the Allen County Bar Association to provide legal services to those with limited financial resources in seven northeastern Indiana counties. Attorneys working with the program supply legal counsel in many areas of civil law, including bankruptcy, contracts, divorce, estate law, health care and real estate.

Gosheff concentrates his pro bono legal activities on serving senior citizens and incapacitated individuals. He significantly contributed to the development of the Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults program in Fort Wayne to help those facing legal issues late in life, such as preparing power of attorney and medical directives and establishing court-appointed guardianships.

Baker & Daniels is currently involved in dozens of pro bono and public interest projects on the local, state, national and global levels, honoring the firm's long-standing commitment to pro bono work. Many employees across all of the firm's offices are actively involved in improving and expanding access to justice for those underserved in the legal sector.

A member of Baker & Daniels' trusts and estates practice group, Gosheff focuses his legal practice on estate planning, business succession planning and estate administration, counseling individuals on the process of transferring wealth. He also advises clients on guardianships and protective proceedings for minors and incapacitated persons.
