Faegre & Benson Helps Fund Legal Assistance Program for Inventors

Faegre & Benson is proud to be one of the founding funders for the Inventor Assistance Program administered by LegalCORPS, a volunteer organization dedicated to delivering high-quality legal assistance to low-income owners of small businesses and small nonprofit organizations in Minnesota.

The Inventor Assistance Program is a pilot program and a first-of-its-kind offering of pro bono legal representation to low-income inventors seeking to patent their inventions. The program was developed under the encouragement of the United States Patent & Trademark Office. It now has an administrator and its own website, where volunteers can sign up to provide pro bono assistance using an online form.

"This unique program reflects our mission to foster Minnesota's entrepreneurial business community," said Faegre & Benson associate Steven Reeves, who currently serves as a board member and the president of the LegalCORPS. "It enables Minnesotans with good ideas to overcome at least one of the financial roadblocks to bringing a new innovation to market."
