Faegre Baker Daniels is pleased to announce that Diane B. Davies, a partner in the firm's Denver office and global head of the firm's real estate practice group, has been named the winner of the Denver Business Journal's Outstanding Women in Business award in the law category. Davies was one of three finalists in the category for the publication's annual award.
Davies was selected as the outstanding businesswoman of the year based on her noteworthy professional achievements, leadership qualities and position at the forefront of her profession. In her practice, Davies focuses on the areas of real estate titles, commercial real estate sales, leasing and development, and commercial lending. She leads the real estate section of the firm's real estate and construction group.
Throughout her career Davies has been heavily involved in community service and pro bono work. She has had long-standing involvement with the Colorado Bar Association and serves as chair of the Title Standards Committee. Additionally, she has been active in the CBA Real Estate Section Council in a variety of roles and served as chair of the Real Estate Section in 2008-2009. Davies has also supported the Colorado Pledge to Diversity Law Firm Group as a member of the Steering Committee and Steering Committee chair. She currently serves on the board of Girls on the Run of the Rockies.
Davies has received a number of prestigious professional awards during her career, many based on peer reviews. She has been on the Best Lawyers in America list for real estate law since 2009, on the Super Lawyers list for real estate law since 2006, and has been on the Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in real estate law since 2007. She is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has been a contributing author for the Colorado Real Estate Forms Deskbook.

Davies graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois.
