Bill Callison Receives Colorado Lawyers Committee Outstanding Sustained Contribution Award

The Colorado Lawyers Committee recently honored Bill Callison, partner in the real estate, corporate and nonprofit organizations groups at Faegre Baker Daniels, with the 2014 Outstanding Sustained Contribution Award. The award is the organization's highest honor.

The award recognizes an individual lawyer whose longstanding support and extensive contributions to the work of the Colorado Lawyers Committee has notably and positively promoted the mission of the organization, and has made a significant difference in the lives of Colorado's children and underserved.

Throughout his career, Callison has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the work and mission of the Colorado Lawyers Committee. He has been an active volunteer for the last 30 years, participating in more than 26 Lawyers Committee projects. He currently co-chairs two projects, including the Housing Task Force, a newly created effort to explore housing issues, and the Redesigning Schools Task Force, which is providing legal analysis to the Donnell-Kay Foundation's effort to design a new public school system. Callison also volunteers on the Education Task Force, a team that is working to improve Colorado's public schools. Other projects in which Callison has been involved include providing transactional legal assistance to numerous nonprofits that could not otherwise afford legal services, and chairing the Nonprofit Task Force from 1992 to 1994. One of his most significant contributions to the Lawyers Committee has been his sustained leadership. Callison has been a member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee Board of Directors almost continuously for the last 25 years, and also served as a member of the Executive Committee from 2003 to 2013.
