FaegreBD Consulting senior vice president and former U.S. congresswoman Mary Bono has been named to the PBS SoCaL Board of Trustees.
PBS SoCaL is the parent to a family of channels dedicated to educating, entertaining and enlightening viewers throughout the greater Los Angeles region on all media platforms.
Bono, a senior vice president at FaegreBD Consulting and former U.S. congresswoman from California, has played a pivotal role in the information technology, entertainment and media industries. As a member of the Telecommunications and the Internet subcommittee in the House, Mary has worked with various agencies, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
At FaegreBD Consulting, Bono advises clients on legislative, regulatory and policy matters affecting the information technology, entertainment and media industries. As evidenced by her record during her 15 years in Congress, she also advocates for thoughtful and meaningful intellectual property policies to protect the rights of those who create digital content, including movies, television, music, video games and other media. She was a leading proponent of the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998, which extended the terms of copyright in the U.S.
