FaegreBD Named to "50 Best Law Firms for Women," Honoring Best Practices for Retaining, Promoting Women Lawyers

Faegre Baker Daniels has been selected as one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women in the United States by Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers.

Firms on this list were lauded for family-friendly policies and business and career development initiatives that help women attorneys succeed and advance into the leadership pipeline. Faegre Baker Daniels and the other honorees were featured in the August/September 2014 issue of Working Mother.

Faegre Baker Daniels was commended for benefits that make the firm a "standout" in the industry and was recognized for having higher representation of women partners than both the average of the 50 Best Firms for Women and the national average for law firms. In addition, at FaegreBD, women hold 25 percent of Executive Committee seats, also higher than the average of firms on the 50 Best Firms for Women list.

"Being a women-friendly workplace today means much more than having the policies and infrastructure in place to enable all lawyers to thrive," said Deborah Epstein Henry, president of Flex-Time Lawyers LLC. "It also means having significant work-life usage rates and high representation of women among the equity partner and leadership ranks to demonstrate that such policies are indeed viable."

The 50 Best Law Firms for Women are selected through an application that includes more than 300 questions about workforce representation, time off, leaves, child care, flexibility, compensation, and advancement and retention of women.

Working Mother Media, a division of Bonnier Corporation, publishes Working Mother magazine and its companion website. Its mission is to serve as a champion of cultural change. Flex-Time Lawyers LLC is an international consulting firm providing advisory, training and speaking services to employers and professionals on work-life balance, retaining and promoting women, and new models of legal practice.
