JD Schneider Brings Software Expertise to FaegrBD's IP Litigation Team

Former software engineer J.D. Schneider has joined the Denver office of Faegre Baker Daniels as an intellectual property associate.

Schneider will focus his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly patent litigation for the software and technology industries. His experience designing, developing and testing software for 4 ½ years at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) gives him insight into clients' complex technologies and how to protect them.

Schneider received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2010. After graduating, he clerked for Judge Stephen Howard in Colorado's Eighth Judicial District Court and Judge Michael Watanabe in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. In these roles, he worked on a variety of patent cases related to simple mechanical devices, complex software patents held by Fortune 500 companies and more.

During law school, Schneider was a patent prosecution summer associate with a Colorado law firm.

Schneider received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Colorado State University in 2003.
