Monica Fennell Receives Indiana Bar Foundation's Highest Honor in Pro Bono Service

Monica Fennell, Faegre Baker Daniels pro bono manager, is a co-recipient of this year’s Randall T. Shepard Award, the highest honor in pro bono service issued by the Indiana Bar Foundation. Fennell and co-recipient Judge Martha B. Wentworth were selected by a committee of volunteers for “impressive efforts to improve the pro bono service delivery systems in Indiana.”

Fennell develops and manages pro bono initiatives for FaegreBD’s lawyers to volunteer their professional skills to meet the legal needs of disadvantaged and underserved persons. FaegreBD is the first law firm in Indiana to create a professional position dedicated to increasing access to the justice system in underserved communities.

Fennell was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court’s Pro Bono Reporting Task Force in 2014. She has also served on the Indiana Supreme Court’s Committee on Unrepresented Litigants and the Assessment Team.
