Faegre Baker Daniels has added Julie Letwat to its health care and life sciences practices. She will work as counsel in the firm’s Chicago office.
Letwat provides wide-ranging legal guidance grounded in nearly two decades of experience as legal counsel for health care organizations. She has hands-on experience navigating all health care markets, with particular familiarity in the niches of compounding, specialty and retail pharmacies. She is a source of trusted counsel on topics including health care regulations and compliance, negotiation, communication strategy, government advocacy, market analysis and business strategy.
Prior to joining FaegreBD, Letwat held many positions within the health care industry, including terms as a health policy director at the American Medical Association, as corporate counsel at a national specialty pharmacy, and, most recently, as General Counsel and VP at Fagron, a global market leader in pharmaceutical wholesaling and compounding. She also spent time as a registered lobbyist and head of government affairs for two major pharmaceutical companies, one of which focused almost exclusively on regenerative medicine and wound care.
Letwat received a master’s of public health in health policy and administration in 2000, a law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996, and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1992.
