Patent Attorney Matt Kamps Joins Intellectual Property Practice

Faegre Baker Daniels has added Matt Kamps as an associate in the intellectual property practice. Kamps will practice from the firm’s Chicago office.

A registered patent attorney, Kamps focuses primarily on patent litigation, but he also has experience developing global patent prosecution strategies, drafting legal opinions and IP licensing agreements, performing freedom-to-operate analyses, and conducting IP due diligence for prospective collaborations. Kamps also provides strategic counseling to clients navigating post-grant proceedings, particularly inter partes review.

Before joining FaegreBD, Kamps served as a patent counsel in the oncology division of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. He earned his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
