Ken Levinson, FaegreBD senior counsel, was recently presented with the “Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award” from Marquis Who’s Who®.
The publication selected Levinson based on his achievements, leadership qualities and credentials. Furthermore, factors such as position and prominence in a field are also examined during the award’s vetting process.
Marquis Who’s Who took note of Levinson being selected to FaegreBD’s Pro Bono Honor Roll in addition to his 40-plus years of tax experience, more than 30 years of aviation experience and over 30 years of insurance experience.
In his practice at FaegreBD, Levinson advises clients on a wide range of international tax issues, as well as captive insurance arrangements and risk management matters.
He previously worked as a managing director for KPMG. Earlier in his career, Levinson held vice president positions with Northwest Airlines (with executive management responsibilities for the corporate tax and risk management departments and as senior finance officer in the cargo division) and Marriott Corporation (with responsibilities for international finance, international tax and tax administration and controversies). Levinson also served as assistant branch chief in the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Washington D.C., and has been an expert witness in Federal court on international tax issues.
In addition, for nine years, Levinson originated and taught a two-semester international tax course at Georgetown University Law Center's LL.M. graduate tax program. He currently teaches the international tax course at the University of Minnesota Law School.
