Alison Bure Named 2018 'Top Women in Finance' Honoree by Finance & Commerce

Alison Bure, Faegre Baker Daniels associate in Minneapolis, has been named a 2018 ‘Top Women in Finance’ honoree by Finance & Commerce.

The publication bestows the honor to women who are making a significant impact in the finance profession and in their communities. An outside panel of experts reviewed nominations and assisted in the selection of honorees.

Bure is being recognized for her work in closing numerous large-scale and high-profile transactions over the last year. As a lawyer in the firm’s finance and restructuring group, she represents lenders and borrowers in structuring, negotiating and closing secured and unsecured loans, securitizations and private equity investments.

She served a leading role on a FaegreBD legal team that paved the way for the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin to acquire important financing that resulted in $4.5 million in net proceeds via the federal New Market Tax Credit Program. The financing has positively impacted the tribe and local area, including in the creation of more than 90 new jobs in addition to providing the means for various capital improvements. This transaction was also recognized as ‘Deal of the Year’ by the Native American Finance Officers Association.

Bure also served as a key member of a FaegreBD finance team on behalf of H.B. Fuller in connection with its $1.5 billion acquisition of Royal Adhesives & Sealants in 2017.

Bure’s extensive pro bono service, volunteerism and community engagement with organizations such as the Minnesota Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Advocates for Human Rights, WomenVenture and others, were also factors in her selection.

Bure and other ‘Top Women in Finance’ honorees will be honored at a dinner and awards program at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis on Nov. 15, 2018.
