Rom’s expertise includes launching and marketing drugs and medical devices and their corresponding support programs, with an emphasis on staving off competitor complaints, consumer protection actions and product liability.
Previously, Rom served as a legal associate for Eli Lilly and Company, partnering with product brand teams and cross-functional support partners in the development and execution of marketing campaigns. He counseled clients on anti-kickback statute, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) promotional regulations, Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidance and relevant U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) settlements. Prior to breaking into the health care space, Rom worked as a deputy attorney general for the criminal appeals division in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, where he gained experience in state and federal district court.
Rom earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law, where he served as the executive managing editor for the Valparaiso University Law Review and graduated magna cum laude. He also earned an M.S. in sports administration from Valparaiso University Graduate School & Continuing Education and a B.S. in history from DePauw University.
