Jones represents clients in international arbitrations, with a focus on companies in the oil and gas, mining, metals, pharmaceutical and financial services industries. He has represented clients across various high-value and complex international arbitration cases, both under institutional rules.
He has handled arbitrations across a wide international scope that encompasses South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He also represents investors in arbitrations arising out of Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and in contractual claims against states. He has represented investors in matters on three continents with claims valued in the hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars. Prior to joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Jones was a partner in the arbitration group (and previously head of the London office) of an international U.S.-based firm.
Jones earned his law degree from Inns of Court School of Law. He also received a graduate degree from University of York and an undergraduate degree from Durham University.
